Marking one year ago since Daily Paper launched its very first womenswear line, the Amsterdam based lifestyle & clothing label are back to present their third full womens collection as part of their “Transcend Borders” Spring/Summer 2018 campaign. Over the past six years, Daily Paper’s distinctly multidisciplinary, heritage-filled vision has seen it evolve into an established fashion house. The collection is set for availability on Monday 30th April via Daily Paper’s online store and Amsterdam flagship plus global lifestyle retailers.
Shot by Jamal Nxedlana, publisher and creative director of Bubblegum Club, Daily Paper’s SS18 “Transcend Borders” Womens collection received a whole new light being shot with the aesthetics of afro-futurisms in the coastal city of Cape Town. The results were an extraordinarily atmospheric fashion photo series that uses the streets of South Africa as a stylish backdrop.
For this collection, Daily Paper explored the idea of transcending expectations and traveled with it. They were aware that returning to the African tribe as their only inspiration would be to miss an opportunity to explore the creative African movements relevant all over the world today. This led them to push things further, look further, spurring them on to be influenced by contemporary African art. Where the norm is interrupted, thoughts are pushed further, where Daily Paper as a brand is more than clothing, it is a global community of like minded individuals.
Oversized silhouettes, taking the form of trousers, blazers, pullovers and a statement snake-skin set, exhibits a revolving activewear theme with tracksuits, printed shirts all making noteworthy appearances. This season also sees an entirely updated range of Daily Paper accessories consisting of waistbags, passport bags, wallets and backpack totes.
